Upson Regional’s Nutrition Manager Wins Top Award

 

Dawn McCoy, a Registered Dietitian at Upson Regional Medical Center, was recently recognized for an exceptional nutrition program and exceeding key results and was named Clinical Nutrition Manager of the Year by Sodexo Healthcare.

McCoy was selected from mo prestigious recognition by Sodexo, the company that manages food service with the hospital.

 

Steve Hand, Food Services Director, said McCoy’s commitment to her profession and her focus on the patient earned her the award. “Dawn consistently brings a great deal of compassion, enthusiasm and value to our organization having the respect of both the hospital staff and the community she serves.  She treats every person she meets with the highest level of respect and service.”

 

Hand says stories of McCoy going the extra mile are not few and far between.  “From responding to a patient call in the middle of the night to vigorously researching special needs diets to help a patient feel better, Dawn is a consistent bright spot in the halls of Upson Regional.”

 

In addition to her good work with inpatients, she makes many contributions toward community health and wellness.  McCoy works closely with the Wellness Center to provide monthly educational programs and participates in a variety of community outreach programs that provide the information needed to make healthy food choices and develop sound physical activity habits.

 

McCoy contributes her success to teamwork. “I could not do what I do without the support of Joy Daniel, the Food Services Department, and the Upson Regional staff. This award belongs to all of us at Upson Regional Medical Center.”
